BEUMER belt conveyors: flexible in every situation
The tried-and-tested mechanical components of apron conveyor technology are the basis for extreme reliability and problem-free operation. The use of highquality construction materials in combination with technologies developed down to the last detail and manufacturing precision ensure a long service life and guarantee significant economic benefits.
Hot materials discharged from the oven cooler at temperatures of up to 600 °C place particularly high demands on conveying equipment. BEUMER apron conveyors offer a choice of cell widths ranging from 500 to 2,000 mm, axis intervals of up to 250 m and transportation volumes of up to 1,255 m3/h to provide optimum system solutions.
Bucket elevators have proven themselves for vertical transport of many and diverse bulk materials for decades. As a market leader, BEUMER Group successfully established the belt bucket elevator technology in the market decades ago.
Belt bucket elevators were consistently developed in the past and enable the highest possible conveying capacities with maximum centre distances today.
Chain bucket elevators are the preferred conveying systems for the transport of hot bulk materials and coarse-grained materials. With its central chain bucket elevators, BEUMER Group offers efficient and proven solutions even for the highest conveying capacities.
High-capacity belt bucket elevators are used for all floury and small-sized bulk materials, e.g. raw meal, cement, grits, sand, concentrated ores, etc. Conveying heights of up to 175 metres have been realised (for information: ACC, India).
Bucket widths of 160 to 2,000 mm are available for a finely graduated adaptation to the conveying capacity. A special bucket design is used for particularly light-weight materials, making the construction as efficient as possible.
Heavy-duty bucket elevators have been developed from belt bucket elevators and are specially designed for coarse, highly abrasive bulk materials. HD bucket elevators can transport piece sizes up to 120 mm.
By using a specifically designed BEUMER Group steel wire belt, HD bucket elevators enable maximum conveying heights and conveying capacities. They are particularly suitable as recirculation units behind high-pressure roller mills, which are increasingly used for pre-grinding in the cement and ore sector.
Furthermore, the special design of the HD bucket elevator enables the highest conveying capacities for coal and similar products. For this sector, the HD bucket elevators can also be offered in an explosion-proof version.
The traditional chain bucket elevator is designed with a double-strand round steel link chain (marine chain). This type is mainly used as an efficient solution for coarse, highly abrasive materials in the low to medium capacity range. It is also suitable for conveying hot bulk material.
Special versions, as for example central discharge bucket elevators, can be designed according to customers’ requirements.
Central chain bucket elevators have been developed from the traditional bucket elevators and enable high conveying capacities with large centre distances.
High-capacity chain bucket elevators with central chain are particularly suitable for the transport of hot, granular and abrasive bulk material. In the cement industry BEUMER central chain bucket elevators are used, among others, for the vertical transport of hot, abrasive clinker, silo feed and in clinker milling systems.
Their reliability and long service life mean economic benefits for our customers, resulting from the use of BEUMER Group technology.
Next to waste oil, scrap tires, shredded tires, well as shredded wood, synthetic materials,and oil saturated mineral substances are suitable waste or secondary fuels. Possible alternative fuels are available in large quantities and at a favorable price. They can be disposed in the high temperature process of the rotary kiln systems of cement plants without any risk. There is neither a danger of inadmissible environmental pollution like toxic emissions nor a reduction of the quality of the cement.
BEUMER Group has developed a special technology for the utilization of alternative fuels in the high temperature process of rotary kilns which has proven its viability in a large number of installations supplied to the cement industry. Due to the continuous improvement of this technology using the important experience gained a standard of high quality and reliability could be achieved.
Apart from scrap tires there is also a strong requirement for the thermal utilization of rubber shreds as well as other complementary combustibles which are mostly shredded such a synthetic materials, wood or oil saturated substances, mineral materials from the food industry and waste oil regeneration.
Therefore, modern concepts aim at a flexible use with a quick adjustment to the different types of fuels. Thus the user has the advantage of adjusting his energy balance with regard to the costs always to the present market situation.

Silo discharge technology
Fluidisation plates enable an easy discharge of fine and powdery bulk material avoiding the formation of lumps. This fine and powdery bulk material is loosened and mixed by blowing in air thus facilitating a trouble-free discharge.
Large ventilation surfaces require only small air quantities if the fluidisation plates are subdivided in sectors. The robust design enables an optimal and even material distribution.
Large quantities of bulk materials must be transported by road and by rail. These bulk materials, whether building materials, coal, grain, animal feed, mineral aggregate or products from the chemical industry, are frequently loaded at the production site and transported as mass bulk material to their sites of use by means of appropriate vehicles.
It is essential to provide technical loading and unloading equipment designed for the handling of specific products and exactly adjusted to the assembly conditions. During the design phase the characteristics of each type of material to be loaded need to be considered, in par ticular with regard to the bulk density, product tempe rature and flow behavior.
Other important criteria include the loading capacity, weight and volume control as well as dustfree, environmentally safe operation.
• Bag Loading Systems
The concept of the threedimensionally adjustable bag loading machine with telescoping head for loading trucks and railcars can be traced back to a German patent issued to BEUMER Group several decades ago. In the meantime, BEUMER Group has supplied many loading machines, both standard and special models, for road and rail vehicles and, in addition to supplying individual machines, has equipped various packing plants worldwide with such equipment. Mechanized and semi- or fully automatic bag loading equipment has become a BEUMER Group speciality. Bag transport equipment, bag cleaners and devices for rejecting broken bags as well as the system controls expand the bag loading equipment into complete installations.
The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is an economic and efficient system for simultaneous loading and palletising of bagged material, such as, cement, lime, gypsum, grain, flour, sugar, plastic granules, food and fertilisers, or similar products. The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is available in mobile and stationary designs and is therefore suited for various applications. These alter – native designs allow an optimum utilization of the dispatch capabilities. Loading and palletising as one operation – this is the proven BEUMER autopac® 3000. Open trucks are automatically loaded with bags directly from the packer onto the loading layers at an hourly capacity of 3.000 bags.
The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is moved into its initial loading position by remote control. The number of rows and layers as well as the total number of bags are stipulated. The reafter loading runs automatically. The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is constructed entirely of electro – mechanical components. The drives and machine parts are clearly arranged and easily accessible. This design offers decisive advant – ages even under extreme ambient conditions through its high availability and outstanding efficiency in operation.
• Ship Loading Systems
We offer two different systems for ship loading. Coarse bulk materials, such as clinker or lumpy ores, are loaded into bulk carriers via BEUMER Group belt conveying systems and a vertical telescopic loading head, efficiently and without dust. Swivelling and telescopic ship loaders ensure filling most of the cargo space without shifting the ship.
The loading of powdered goods is handled by fully enclosed loading machines. This, in connection with the required filter systems, reduces the environmental impact to a minimum.

• High Level Palletizing
BEUMER paletpac® high-level palletisers fulfil the requirements of various industries. The BEUMER paletpac® is particularly suited for the gentle palletising of highly sensitive bagged products in the lower capacity range. BEUMER paletpac® high-capacity palletisers are used for gentle, safe and efficient palletising of robust bagged products in particularly high quantities.
High-level palletisers for sensitive bagged goods
BEUMER paletpac® systems are characterised by exceptional stack quality and reliability. A multi-program interface includes all common packing patterns, and can be individually adjusted to the different requirements of the chemical, food, and building materials industries. The BEUMER palletising systems are particularly suited for sensitive bagged goods such as plasters, screeds, animal feed, granulated material and pulverized or micronized chemical products.
The models in the lower performance range can achieve throughputs of 600 to 2,500 bags per hour. Their special design with a ventilated stacking table and special coatings reduces friction. The stateof- the-art drive system minimises noise and wear. Motors that save energy due to frequency controls and servo technology, product-specific turning devices, and optimal electric control systems ensure efficient, safe and precise palletising.
High-level palletiser for robust bagged goods
Whether handling fertilisers or cement: if the bags are arranged in certain patterns, high-capacity palletisers from the BEUMER paletpac® series can palletise up to 5,500 bags per hour while ensuring high stack quality and gentle handling of the bags. Optimised turning devices are used in order to bring the bags into the required bag pattern, e.g. twin-belt turning devices for sensitive goods and bar-type turning devices for more robust items. BEUMER paletpac® – The perfect device for optimal alignment
Clamp-type turning device
The clamp-type turning device aligns bagged goods using a specific clamp. This gentle procedure is available for all BEUMER paletpac® systems up to a performance class of 2,500 bags per hour.
Twin-belt turning device
The twin-belt turning device of the BEUMER paletpac® system is particularly gentle when turning the packages. The gentle handling is possible due to different speeds of two separately driven belt conveyors, which makes it particularly suitable for the building materials, cement, chemical and food industries.
Bar-type turning device
On the bar-type turning device, a swivelling bar pushes the laterally guided bags into the desired position. The BEUMER paletpac® can be used regardless of the performance capacity, but it is particularly efficient for sturdy products and large mass flows.

In many industries, not only bagged goods need to be palletised, but also cartons, cardboard boxes, crates or canisters. The BEUMER robotpac® palletises and depalletises various types of packages using specifically developed gripper elements. The BEUMER interface control ensures a user-friendly handling, as well as a flexible adjustment to changing conditions of use. Whether handling bagged goods or cardboard boxes: the fork gripper ensures reliable, gentle and precise stacking of both product types. It can handle up to 600 units per hour.
Double fork gripper
The powerful double fork gripper stacks bagged goods and cardboard boxes with a capacity of up to 900 units per hour; this is also possible by moving two units per travel path.
The finger gripper is a high capacity tool for stable bags. It can palletise up to 1,200 bags per hour.
Double finger gripper
The double finger gripper is used if large quantities of stable bags need to be palletised. It can position up to 1,900 bags per hour for the palletising process.
Pallet gripping device
The installation of a pallet gripping device allows for feeding the empty pallets without an additional empty pallet conveyor.
The suction gripper is recommended for bundles with suctionable surfaces: it can stack up to 400 bundles per hour while gently handling the product. Even unstable packaged goods can be palletised reliably.
The parallel gripper performs especially well when palletising stable bundles with parallel side walls, i.e. cardboard boxes: it can stack up to 600 cardboard boxes per hour.
For individual requirements, special gripping systems are developed and dimensioned for the specific products and performance characteristics.

The electronics of the BEUMER fillpac® are compatible with check weighers. The check weighers are specially designed and manufactured in Europe for the BEUMER fillpac®. They are equipped with the latest functions, such as autocorrection, recognition of over- and/or underweight bags and communication with the bag trap, in order to discharge bags with incorrect weights. The electronics display the individual bag weights, as well as the number of bags. Using an interface, the data can be transmitted to management information systems in the desired formats for data generation.
Designed for easy handling
Thanks to their sophisticated design, the optimised BEUMER fillpac® RH/RV can be dismantled into shipping units which are easy to transport and can be quickly re-assembled. The few settings required on the filling module can easily be transferred onto other modules. A product change can therefore also be quickly implemented. Furthermore, the modular machine set-up simplifies access to the components, for example to the impeller motor which is installed at the front instead of in the depths of the machine. Settings can be directly undertaken on the cylinder of the tilt frame. This not only simplifies the configuration of the system, but also the maintenance and service effort involved.
More flexibility thanks to modularity
Thanks to the modular machine set-up of the BEUMER fillpac® RH/RV impeller packer, special functions such as a ultrasonic sealing unit and an automatic saddle height adjustment can be retrofitted at any time. A change from a horizontal to a vertical impeller and a change of slide plates are also easily carried out. The filling module can be easily and quickly removed for maintenance purposes, after which production can be continued. Furthermore, all actuators are provided with connectors, which simplifies and accelerates replacements of the actuators and sensors.
High precision thanks to proven weighing technology
The tried and tested SIWAREX weighing technology by Siemens ensures accurate filling. The use of this high-quality, standard component guarantees quick availability worldwide in case of maintenance requirements. It is controlled via a PLC and enables permanent feedback of the process data from the weighing mechanism.
Attractive options for expansion
In order to seal the bags and therefore to prevent scatter loss of the filling material and increase the storage capability, the BEUMER fillpac® can be equipped with an ultrasonic closure unit. The mechanical self-holding function on this unit ensures that the head maintains its elevated position even in case of cylinder leakage. A further option is the saddle height adjustment with integrated sensors. This can simply be retrofitted and replaced, and no adjustment work is necessary. A push rod pointing downwards prevents dust depositions.
Efficient work procedures thanks to simple operation
The BEUMER fillpac® RH/RV impeller packer can be easily, quickly and reliably controlled and operated via an ergonomic, 12-inch BEUMER Group HMI using five-wire touch technology. This optimised user interface and navigation with an easily-comprehensible and intuitive interaction concept increases the efficiency of the work procedures.

Three functions in one
The BEUMER fillpac® FFS fulfills three functions with one compact and space-saving system: It forms bags from a prefabricated tubular PE film and fills them with the corresponding product and seals bags at a capacity of 2,600 bags per hour. The filling process is carried out reliably, gently and sustainably. Moreover, an integrated weighing unit ensures exact filling results.
Flexibility in all respects
The symmetrical structure of the BEUMER fillpac® FFS is unique and enables operation from any side of the system. Thanks to various options like print mark control, automatic exchange of film rolls, detached film releasing unit, free or rail-based manoeuvrability and the possibility of processing pre-stretched film, the system can be adapted individually to any kind of customer requirements.
Availability that saves costs
Where systems operate around the clock, the BEUMER fillpac® FFS with its outstanding availability is the perfect partner. Its robust design extends maintenance intervals. The wear and tear of the system, for example, is minimal: It guides the bags in a straight movement to the individual working posts, preventing the bags from oscillating and thus avoiding vibrations.
