IPB – International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing
Exhibition & Conference 2017

October 16-18, 2017
Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC)
Shanghai, P.R. China

The 15th round of the International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition (IPB) in 2017 can look back on a positive outcome. The trade fair took place from 16 to 18 October 2017 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC).

A total of 143 exhibitors (142 in 2016) from 13 countries once again showcased the rich diversity of mechanical processing and associated technologies. The more than 7,900 trade visitors who made their way to Shanghai underscore the position of the IPB as the leading trade fair for the powder and bulk solids processing industries in China.

The IPB welcomed 7,906 trade visitors (7,988 in 2016) who had come to find out about new technologies, explore industry trends and initiate investments directly at the event. According to a survey, 34 percent of visitors were from the chemical industry, followed by the pharmaceutical sector (12 percent) and the energy sector (12 percent). Other segments represented among the visitor contingent were the ceramic and glass industry as well as mining and metals.

The IPB includes a comprehensive supporting programme that was extended yet again this year by organisers NürnbergMesse China and the Chinese Society of Particuology. One highlight was the Energy Particle Materials Processing & Testing Technology Seminar. The symposium attracted more than 200 visitors from the energy sector, including manufacturers of lithium batteries, innovative energy companies, and scientists. The focus of the meeting was on the use of particle material for energy storage and processing. The presentations covered issues such as lithium batteries, capacitors, fuel cells and electric mobility. The symposium was complemented by a matchmaking event.

Alongside the IPB there was also a one-day safety symposium on explosion protection hosted by Ind Ex e.V., the Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection. The symposium focused on the current dust explosion safety situation in China in particular and provided interesting approaches and solutions in order to support China on its way to industrial explosion safety! China during the last years has made huge steps towards a safer future, by setting up new standards and also rigorously enforcing them. This symposium attracted around 50 persons from IND EX® members, experts and enginerrs focused on an active discussion and exchange of ieas on dust safety issues in China.

Also part of the IPB was the 2017 Shanghai Pharmaceutical Powder & Particle Processing Seminar, which focused on ways too improve dissolution of drugs and how to reduce pharmaceutical raw materials into superfine powder, which is benefit for the extraction of active ingredients, as well as on increasing the dispersion in uniform mixing.

The next IPB China will be held from 17 to 19 October 2018 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. For more information on IPB 2018 and the associated conference please visit: www.ipbexpo.com/en
