Doppelmayr Transport Technology GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Doppelmayr Group, headquartered at Konrad-Doppelmayr-Strasse 1 in Wolfurt, Austria. The company develops, plans, and builds material transport systems that combine ropeway engineering with continuous conveyor technology, most notably the RopeCon system: a flat belt with corrugated side walls and integrated wheel sets that runs on fixed track ropes suspended from tower structures. These systems are built for the transport of bulk materials and unit loads across terrain that would be difficult for conventional conveyors, spanning obstacles while limiting the ground footprint of the installation. Doppelmayr Transport Technology's systems have been applied in mining, including a RopeCon that transports platinum ore at the Booysendal South mine in South Africa, and a RopeCon under construction for the Aditya Alumina Refinery project in India, intended to move bauxite at a rate of 1,500 tonnes per hour.
