Fike Corporation was founded in 1945 in Independence, Missouri, as L.L. Fike Metal Products Company and is headquartered in Blue Springs, Missouri. The company began manufacturing rupture discs in 1955 and added explosion protection through deflagration vents in 1965. Fike's current product range for combustible dust hazards includes explosion isolation, explosion suppression, explosion venting and flameless venting systems, along with premium and hygienic rupture discs. The company established international operations in Japan in 1980, Belgium in 1984, Canada in 1985 and Malaysia in 1987, and maintains a subsidiary, Fike Deutschland, based in Mannheim, Germany.
