Hosokawa Micron

Hosokawa Micron Powders GmbH, based in Cologne, Germany, offers toll processing services for powders and particles, including grinding, classifying, mixing, screening, and compaction. The company traces its origins to 1957, when the American mill manufacturer Pulverizing Machinery opened a sales office in Cologne; it joined the Hosokawa Group in 1985 and was restructured in 2006 into two units at the same site, with Hosokawa Micron Powders focused on contract processing for customers without their own production capacity. The Cologne facility operates 21 production systems in three-shift operation, with an annual processing volume of about 14,000 tonnes, and can handle batches from small samples up to more than 1,000 tonnes per year for a single product. Production runs on stainless steel systems designed for wet cleaning with minimal residue, and particle size is verified by laser diffraction or sieving analysis. The quality management system is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001, and the company has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia energy efficiency learning network LEEN since 2020.
