Rotex Global LLC is a manufacturer of industrial screening and separation equipment headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company traces its origins to 1844, when Isaac Straub founded a mill-equipment business in Cincinnati; the Rotex gyratory screener itself was invented by Lowe Simpson in 1912, and the firm adopted the Rotex name in 1974. Rotex was acquired by Hillenbrand, Inc. in August 2011 and now operates as part of Hillenbrand's Advanced Process Solutions segment. Its product line includes Rotex gyratory screeners with patented reciprocating motion, the APEX screener, Classic Screen and Chip Screen units for wood, paper, and grain applications, Ultrex sanitary separator systems, and Minerals Separators and MEGATEX XD equipment for liquid-solid separation. The company also supplies vibratory feeders and conveyors and automated particle-size analyzers. Beyond equipment manufacturing, Rotex operates materials testing laboratories staffed by screening technicians who evaluate customer samples, and offers OEM parts, field maintenance and repair, machine startup, and operation and maintenance training. Rotex equipment serves the agriculture, chemical, fertilizer, food processing, minerals, plastics, recycling, and biofuel industries. In addition to its Cincinnati headquarters, Rotex has maintained offices in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Japan.
