Semperit AG Holding is an industrial manufacturer headquartered in Vienna, Austria, tracing its origins to a patent for waterproof fabrics granted to Johann Nepomuk Reithoffer in 1824. The group is organized into five divisions: Hoses, Profiles, Form, Conveyor Belts, and Rico. Its Conveyor Belts division, marketed under the Sempertrans brand, designs and manufactures steel cord belt types such as Sempercord, Metalcord, and Metaltrans, as well as textile belt types including Multitrans, Transpipe, and Flextrans. These belts are used for bulk material conveying in sectors such as mining and quarrying, cement production, ports, thermal power plants, fertilizer production, and the transport of aggregates, grain, sugar, and salt, with product features aimed at impact, abrasion, and cut resistance. The company also developed the Flyingbelt, a suspended conveyor-and-ropeway system used to transport limestone to a cement plant in Brazil.
