UWT develops industrial level measurement instruments for bulk solids and liquids. The company is based in Betzigau, Germany, and documents work in this field since 1977. A broad portfolio is useful because no single principle is automatically suitable for every powder, vessel or liquid. Dust, buildup, low dielectric properties, changing bulk density, foam, mechanical loading and restricted mounting positions can all change the selection.

Start with the decision the measurement must support. A high-level shutdown, a reorder signal and a mass-balance estimate place different demands on response, repeatability and failure behavior. Then document the medium, particle size, bulk density, dust, moisture, temperature, pressure, vessel geometry, filling pattern, outlet location and available mounting points. The required output signal, plant control interface, hazardous-area classification, hygiene constraints and proof-test method also belong in the specification.
