How the sampling sequence works

HECHT describes a four-step sequence. An anti-crease ring first smooths the liner. A vacuum lance then fixes the disposable sampler to the liner. The lance pierces the liner so the sample can be removed. The filled sample is sealed and separated.

The sampling interface stays attached to the liner during collection. A disposable product path reduces cleaning between sampling operations and limits cross contamination.

Containment claim and its limits

HECHT states that CPS can be used for containment duties up to OEB 5. OEB is a banding approach, not a universal performance value. A project has to translate the material hazard into a defined exposure target, then show that the complete procedure meets it: attachment to the liner, piercing, withdrawal, sealing, separation and disposal, including foreseeable operator errors.
