How the sampling sequence works

HECHT describes a four step sequence. An anti crease ring first smooths the liner. A vacuum lance then fixes the disposable sampler to the liner. The lance pierces the liner so the sample can be removed. The filled sample is finally sealed and separated.

This sequence keeps the sampling interface attached to the liner during collection. The disposable product path is intended to reduce cleaning between sampling operations and limit cross contamination.

Containment validation addresses a different question. It should cover attachment to the liner, piercing, withdrawal, sealing, separation and disposal, including foreseeable operator errors. Commissioning evidence

Before routine use, confirm liner compatibility, sample recovery, seal integrity, labelling and transfer to the laboratory. Train operators on the sequence and on recovery from a failed seal or damaged liner. Where exposure is critical, include suitable occupational-hygiene verification rather than judging containment from appearance alone.
