About this video
Bulk bag dischargers differ less in what they do than in how the bag gets in and how the dust stays out. This Flexicon video runs through the BULK-OUT range and the frame choices that follow from the plant layout.
According to the manufacturer, the two most popular configurations are the BFF series with a bag lifting frame for forklift loading, and the BFC series with a cantilevered I-beam, electric hoist and trolley for loading without a forklift. Flexicon also lists split frames for forklift loading in low headroom, half frames for suspending bags from a forklift during discharge, and continuous loss-of-weight dischargers for uninterrupted feeding straight from the bag.
The video also covers the accessories Flexicon offers across the range: devices for dust-free loading, untying, retying and removal of bulk bags, integral flow promotion devices, and dedicated bulk bag conditioners that loosen material that has solidified in storage and transit. At about six and a half minutes it is one of the longer manufacturer overviews of the category.
